ABOUT

Our mission

St. Paul Lutheran Preschool is committed to providing a rich learning environment that encourages children's natural curiosity and supports them to take risks that lead to skill development. This setting allows children to feel safe, respected, and cared for.

We believe that early childhood is an important time of learning and growth in a child's life. We believe that children learn best by engaging in and experiencing their world by using their imaginations. This play-based approach, facilitated by teachers who take an active role through intentional planning, nurtures and supports each child in an environment that inspires a love of learning, helping to develop problem-solving skills and readiness for school.

The program shines with weekly chapel services, art, music, language, science, and math. Special events wrap in family, friends, and honored guests.

With a highly educated staff leading the way, this little village for preschoolers provides learning for:

  • Two-year-olds (two-day program)

  • Three-year-olds (two- and three-day programs)

  • Four-year-olds (four-day program)

Through a longstanding commitment to community outreach, the preschool offers scholarships for at-risk children and families in need.

History

YESTERDAY

In the early days, a small group of parents organized an informal “mothers day out” program.  By 1967, St. Paul Preschool was founded around a Christian curriculum, utilizing the cooperative gifts of dedicated volunteers.

Over the years, the congregation has strongly supported the preschool through staffing, facility improvements, and scholarship assistance.

TODAY

The preschool reaches out with Christ’s love to the community around it. Included in the program are a weekly chapel service and music enrichment. The preschool board and parent committee lend support to the program

as well as special events. We are now serving second and third generation Quad City children.

TOMORROW

The preschool is responsive to the changing needs of the family. Staff members stay up-to-date on

the latest trends in early childhood development, adapting the program to best serve our children.
